Family of three found after going missing near Gunung Lambak


KLUANG: A family of three who went missing after going for a hike at Gunung Lambak here have been found safe and unharmed.

Kluang Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Saiful Fadly Karim said that the department received a distress call regarding the case at 8.24pm on Sunday (June 4).

“The family went missing while hiking in the forest.We deployed 10 personnel to the location and divided them into two groups,” he said in a statement on Monday (June 5).

Saiful said that the team had gone to the last location shared by the victims via WhatsApp and added that this is about 400m from the foot of the mountain.

“All of the victims were later found at 11.23pm, 500m from the Talula Hill Resort Basecamp,” he added.

Saiful said that the family was handed over to the police after going through the health inspection.

The victims are husband and wife Loh Yeok Keong, 56, Lok Siew Koon, 53, and their nephew Lok Hong Sheng, 12.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh has confirmed that a police report has been lodged about the case.
